Delhi Daredevils won by 8 wickets

Delhi DareDevils shattered the dreams of Chennai Super Kings and halted the winning streak by defeating them convincingly by 8 wickets. Chasing a modest target of 170 they had a flighing start with Virender Sehwag at is usual destructive best. Sehwag and Gambhir opened the innings and got the first wicket partnership of 115 runs. This partnership was the one which took the match away from Chennai Super Kings and they also tasted the defeat for the first time in the Indian Premier League. Sehwag smashed the ball to all corners and got on to score 71 runs in just 41 balls which included 7 fours and 4 sixes.Gambhir also scored fifty and scored 50 of 37 balls. The remaining work was done by AB de Villiers and Shikhar Dhawan who took Delhi Daredevils to a superb win over the so called undefeatable Super Kings.Manpreet Gony, bowling the second over of the innings, went for 17 runs and later, Joginder Sharma was smashed for 19 as Daredevils galloped their way to victory. dismissals of Sehwag in the 12th over and then the wicket of Gambhir in the 15th, but by then, the Daredevils were within sight of their fourth victory. AB de Villiers and Shikar Dhawan batted sensibly to bring Daredevils home at the end of the 19th over. Fleming was clean bowledoff the very first delivery that was declared no-ball, and then went for a boundary before castling the former Kiwi captain for just 13 runs. Parthiv Patel was far from convincing, twice offering half-chances before falling prey to Sehwag who struck with his very first delivery as the batsman tried to swing him out of the ground. Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni then tried to steady the innings. Super Kings ended with 6 and they set a target of 170 runs.
